About Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston and died in 1790. He was buried in the cemetary of Crist Church in Philadelphia. He was an inventor, publisher, did a little music, and a economist. Benjamin was one of the founding fathers of the United States of America. Benjamin gained some money on an almanac named Poor Richard's Almanac. Benjamin was the 10th son of his family out of 17.
Benjamin became a vegetarian for a bit until the voyage from Boston to Philadelphia were he gave it up and had fish. Ben did go to school for a short time but he then left school and helped his dad with his candle shop. He got most of his education from reading. When Ben was little, he wanted to be a sailor. Ben's dad thought Ben would be good at the trade of printing so he sent Ben to his brothers printing shop. Ben later on made his own business which was located in Philadelphia.
Ben had five older sisters, two younger sisters, and five older brothers. The older sisters were named Elizabeth, Hannah, Anne, Mary, and Sarah, his two younger sisters were named Lydia and Jane, and his five older brothers were named Samuel, Josiah, John, Peter, and James. That is a total of seven sisters and 5 brothers which is a total of 12 brothers and sisters.
Benjamin Franklin married Deborah Read Rogers in 1730. She died in 1774. When she was alive, she had a general store while Ben had a printing shop. Ben had two sons named William and Francis Folger who had died from smallpox when he was four. He also had a daughter named Sarah who had a nickname of Sally. Ben had eight grandchildren in total. He had one from his son William named William Temple. He also had seven grandchildren from Sarah. Their names were Benjamin, William, Louis, Richard, Betsy, Deborah, and Sarah.
